Safeguarding and access control upgrades delivering improved perimeter security and controlled entry at Manor Community Academy.
Northern Education Trust required targeted safeguarding and access control improvements at Manor Community Academy to strengthen pupil safety, manage visitor access more effectively, and align site arrangements with the principles of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and the emerging requirements of Martyn’s Law (Protect Duty). The academy needed a practical solution that improved perimeter security and controlled movement without disrupting daily school operations.
Applebridge Building Services designed and delivered a coordinated package of physical security and access control measures to create a more robust and clearly defined site boundary. The solution focused on controlling points of entry, separating pedestrian and vehicular movements, and integrating electronic access systems to support safer day-to-day management and emergency procedures.
The upgraded perimeter and controlled access points provide Manor Community Academy with a safer and more structured site layout. Visitor entry is now clearly managed, unauthorised access is reduced, and staff have greater control over movements across the campus. The improvements support effective lockdown procedures and emergency response planning, while reinforcing compliance with KCSIE and preparing the academy for future Protect Duty expectations.
