Envision sought to develop a cutting-edge Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Wilton, Lazenby Bypass, aimed at enhancing energy storage capabilities and supporting the local grid infrastructure. The project, faced significant challenges, including frequent design changes and the client’s overseas location.
Our Solution
Applebridge Building Services, alongside family companies ZTL Contracting and Applebridge Utilities, successfully addressed the challenges by fostering strong and transparent communication with Envision and maintaining a dedicated site team.
Operating under an NEC contract, the team ensured clear processes were followed throughout the project, including proactive management of project updates and design changes. Regular fortnightly commercial meetings and weekly progress discussions enabled seamless alignment with the client’s evolving requirements, keeping the project on track despite its complexities.
Scope Of Works
Applebridge Building Services was appointed to complete the following packages of works:
- Cut and fill to BESS areas
- Installation of over 20,000m of service ducts
- Installation of earthing nest
- Surface finishes
- Construction of service roads
- Surface water drainage
- Construction of reinforced concrete landing pads and substructures for ancillary buildings.
