Their Challenge

Northern Education Trust required a coordinated programme of car park and access infrastructure improvements to support growing pupil and staff numbers across its academies. At Oak Tree Academy, the Trust sought to increase parking capacity, improve safety and accessibility, and modernise site access in line with Department for Education guidance, safeguarding requirements, and sustainability objectives. The solution needed to be delivered within a live school environment, with minimal disruption and a consistent standard of quality and branding.

Our Solution

Applebridge Building Services developed and delivered a tailored package of civil and infrastructure works that addressed capacity, safety, and long-term operational efficiency. Through early engagement with the Trust, we aligned design development with SCA, GEMS, and KCSIE requirements, while applying value engineering to maximise whole-life benefit. Works were carefully phased around the school day, with strict segregation, clear communication, and robust safeguarding controls. All new infrastructure incorporated Trust branding and integrated access control systems to ensure a consistent approach across the wider estate.

The Results
