THEIR CHALLENGE:
Thorp Academy required the installation of additional teaching space to support its growing student population. With the new academic year approaching, it was essential that the works were completed without disrupting ongoing school operations. The challenge was to manage all enabling works and install four modular classrooms within a tight timeframe, while ensuring health and safety standards in an active educational environment.
OUR SOLUTION
During the school holidays, our team coordinated the delivery and installation of the modular classrooms, ensuring all works were finalised in time for the start of term. This structured approach allowed us to mitigate risks, manage logistics, and avoid any impact on the school’s daily operations.
SCOPE OF WORKS
Applebridge Building Services was appointed to complete the following packages of works:
- Site preparation and enabling works
- Installation of foundations and footings
- Electrical and service installations
- Coordination and installation of four modular classroom units
- Project management as Principal Contractor
THE RESULTS
The project was delivered on time and within budget, ensuring a seamless transition into the new school year. The additional modular classrooms provided immediate, high-quality teaching space to accommodate increased pupil numbers. Through strategic planning and effective stakeholder coordination, Applebridge enabled Thorp Academy to meet its expansion goals without compromising operational continuity.
