THEIR CHALLENGE:

As part of a pharmaceutical development in Stockton, Sisk required two ancillary buildings—the Liquid Waste Building and the IBC Building—to support the handling and management of liquid waste from the main facility. The project demanded the transformation of a Stage 4 client design into construction-ready documentation, while also coordinating complex specialist equipment installations. The live nature of the site, with mechanical and electrical trades already active, added further programme and access challenges.

OUR SOLUTION

Applebridge Building Services progressed the inherited Stage 4 design to full Stage 5 status, appointing a specialist design coordinator to streamline communication between the client, M&E teams and our CPD designer. Regular coordination meetings ensured precise alignment on access, sequencing, and equipment integration. Applebridge, Applebridge Utilities, and Tarcon also provided supporting works, enabling smooth collaboration across the Applebridge Family. Despite a tight programme and the constraints of an active site, we delivered a controlled and well-managed construction phase.

SCOPE OF WORKS

• Portal steel frame
• Scaffold & netting
• Composite roofing and cladding
• Blockwork
• Firestopping
• Roller shutters
• Steel personnel doors

THE RESULTS

The buildings were successfully taken from concept through to full construction delivery, with all works now complete. Through coordinated design development and effective cross-disciplinary collaboration, the ancillary buildings meet the structural, access and operational requirements needed for specialist waste-handling processes.
